Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in 'Sexy Sienna'. Ok. In a word, this lipstick is revolutionary. Ok. Perhaps that word is a bit hyperbolic, but YOU GUYS, this formula is AMAZING. I had already spent a fortune today when I sauntered up to the Charlotte Tilbury counter at Bloomingdales to "just try on" one of the matte colors, and was almost to the parking lot when I realized how lightweight and perfectly silky my lips felt, and like some damn Siren song, the Charlotte counter beckoned me back and managed to pry one more chunk of change out of my wallet. Am I sorry? NO, because it's 5 hours later now and my lips still look delicious. And apparently there are '3D glowing pigments' in this tube? I'm telling you, I believe it!! In Charlotte's words, I am "litchrally lit from within!". Now I'm just sitting here daydreaming about owning all the colors. PM me for my address if you'd like to pony up for the next tube. My wallet needs a rest.
Bobbi Brown Pink Guava
Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Color in 'Pink Guava'. Hmm. My second Bobbi lipstick and, once again, I'm not in love: this got trapped all over my lips today and kinda takes awhile to layer up to get decent all-over coverage. BUT the color is super delicious: the perfect match to the Chanel 'Turban' polish on my nails. Anyone have any dupes for this color in a formula they love?
Lancôme Lip Lover Fuchsia Attitude
Lancôme Lip Lover in No 339 'Fuchsia Attitude', on top of MAC Pro Longwear Lip Liner in 'Dynamo'. Am I the only American Lisa Eldridge fan who first discovered Lip Lover glosses through her channel, but misheard them through Lisa's silky-posh accent as "Lip Lavas"? It always made me think of the most gorgeous volcano ever. 🌋💄❤️
Marc Jacobs So Sofia
Marc Jacobs Le Marc lipstick in 'So Sofia'. Wore this for my Mother's Day brunch today, paired with sunglasses, a pancake or 4, and 2 mimosas: a combination I highly recommend on Mother's Day and all the days. Super creamy and saturated, it's almost a neon red. Pretty killer. Go Marc go!
NARS Greta
NARS Audacious Lipstick in 'Greta'. I know what you may be thinking: Exactly how many magenta lipsticks does this girl need? The answer: As many as it takes.
This is my lovely friend and colleague Erika wearing 'Greta' on a snowy day in NYC. Erika had been sent to NYC on a business trip where logistics went terribly awry due to Winter Storm Stella. To cheer her up, I sent @postmates to the Midtown Manhattan Sephora and had this little lippy delivered to her hotel room. As I had hoped, it was quite delightfully received. ✨🎁💄😁The only thing better than buying yourself a lovely, luxurious lipstick is gifting one to someone else and seeing her fabulous smile get even prettier when she wears it.👄😘
Chanel Romy
Chanel Rouge Coco in 'Romy'. Question for you Chanel lipstick lovers out there: have you had much luck wearing a bright color in the Rouge Coco formula? I've only worn nudes or maybe deep rose so far from that line, and while this looked good at the Nordstrom's, I wore it the other day and found it just crept right off my bottom lip and generally didn't wear well after about an hour. I took her back tonight in exchange for a fabulous nudey-pink Rouge Coco Shine (stay tuned it's soooo good). But seriously: any suggestions for good brights from this line? My guess is you have to start at the Rouge Allure line to really get good impact. Lemme know in the comments! 🤔😘
Rimmel As You Want Victoria
Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in no. 360 'As You Want Victoria'. Whoa! What an amazing find! I've been researching more drugstore lipsticks to try out so I can continue this hobby and still afford rent, and I discovered this "high street (🇬🇧🙂)" lipstick line is featured multiple times on Lisa Eldridge's channel and blog. And for good reason! It's got hyaluronic acid and it glides on but looks incredibly rich and pigmented—this pic is ONE COAT, without any lip liner. YASSSS this brand is a keeper, and at $7, it's a steal!
Marc Jacobs Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Crème Lipstick in 'Kiss Kiss Bang Bang'. This, along with the Marc Beauty black gel Highliner, was the 2015 Sephora birthday present, and I picked it up when Janey was about 7 months old. I remember applying both while feeling super schlubby after a pumping session one night, and just the two products looked divine and immediately perked me right up. I love it when makeup does its job. ☺️
Bobbi Brown Pink Punch
Bobbi Brown Art Stick Liquid Lip in 'Pink Punch'. Hmm. I'm on the fence with this one. It looks great, but it's such a pain in the ass to put on. What's wrong with just normal lipstick? Now all of a sudden we have to squirt and smear goo all over a plastic spatula and then delicately dab it on our lips for 20 minutes in hopes of a somewhat precise application? Really? I dunno. Yeah, I think this one's going back to Sephora tomorrow. Which begs the question, especially in light of the 15% off VIB sale still in progress: what is your favorite normal-just-out-of-the-bullet-thanks lipstick from Bobbi? Look forward to your comments, thanks! @christireynoldsbeauty, you start!
MAC Fanfare
MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in 'Fanfare'. Not to rain on MAC's parade or anything, but this one is really frustrating to wear, which doesn't make any sense, since it's the same formulation (and almost the same shade?) as 'Crosswires', which I love. This one gets trapped in my lip lines, creases, wants to be sheer and creamy at the same time, and just basically acts annoying all day. The only nice thing I can say about this is that I bought it on a lovely trip with the hubs to NYC. But otherwise, 👎.
