Chanel Rouge Coco in 'Romy'. Question for you Chanel lipstick lovers out there: have you had much luck wearing a bright color in the Rouge Coco formula? I've only worn nudes or maybe deep rose so far from that line, and while this looked good at the Nordstrom's, I wore it the other day and found it just crept right off my bottom lip and generally didn't wear well after about an hour. I took her back tonight in exchange for a fabulous nudey-pink Rouge Coco Shine (stay tuned it's soooo good). But seriously: any suggestions for good brights from this line? My guess is you have to start at the Rouge Allure line to really get good impact. Lemme know in the comments! 🤔😘
Chanel Coromandel
Chanel Rouge Allure in no. 98 'Coromandel'. I was inspired to pick up this color after watching Mary Greenwell expertly apply it to Sali Hughes' face in the behind-the-scenes shoot for Sali's brilliant book Pretty Honest. Little did I know, through further research via Lisa Eldridge's #makeupmoment blog posts, that Coromandel was also used on a couple marvelous leading ladies in recent films: by Ivana Primorac on Kiera Knightly in the sultry library scene in 'Atonement' and by Morag Ross on Cate Blanchett in the mesmerizing, gorgeous film 'Carol'. As if I needed more reasons to feel special wearing fancy red lipstick. 💄
Chanel Shocking Pink
Chanel Rouge Double Intensité Ultra Wear Lip Color matte liquid in 'Shocking Pink'. Bought this especially for a husband-/baby-free weekend L.A. getaway last summer, and it complemented the sunshine and poolside vistas swimmingly. Day to day, it wears a bit rough: SUPER drying, but it doesn't budge or transfer, and the gloss locks in just a touch of moisture pretty well. While there are certainly better mattes and glosses out there, in general, it made me feel like a million bucks.
Chanel Mademoiselle
Chanel Rouge Coco in no. 434 'Mademoiselle'. Big sister to no. 402 'Adrienne', and killer on top of Charlotte Tilbury 'Pillow Talk' liner. Also, saw Mary Greenwell use both of these shades one time on a Get the Gloss video, so I didn't really have a choice, now, did I?
Chanel Adrienne
Baby's first Chanel lipstick purchase, and still my favorite, easiest nude: Rouge Coco in no. 402 'Adrienne'
